Description
In the second half of June each year Kiel, a city at the baltic coast of northern Germany celebrates one of the biggest sailing events wordwide - the Kiel Sailing Week (Kieler Woche).
One of the highlights is the windjammer (tall ship) parade in the Kieler Foerde (Fjord, Bay). The bay is crowded with anything that floats, from surfboards and rowing boats to huge battle ships and tall sailing ships.
This year I had the chance to be on the water to watch the parade much closer. This is one of the spectecular sights.
